The Vegas Golden Knights visit the Anaheim Ducks in NHL action from the Honda Center on Saturday night.
The Vegas Golden Knights will look to build on a 4-0 win over the Ducks in Friday’s matchup. Mark Stone leads the Knights in scoring with 48 points including a team-high 34 assists to go along with his 14 goals while Max Pacioretty has 41 points with a team-high 21 goals and 20 assists. Shea Theodore has 33 points with 27 assists while Jonathan Marchessault, William Karlsson, Alex Tuch and Chandler Stephenson each have double-digit goals and assists this season. As a team, Vegas is averaging 3.3 goals on 32.4 shots with a 17.1% success rate on the power play while allowing 2.2 goals on 27.2 shots against with an 84.7% success rate on the PK this season.
The Anaheim Ducks will look to rebound from their loss to the Golden Knights in their last matchup. Maxime Comtois leads Anaheim in scoring with 26 points including a team-high 12 goals and 14 assists while Rickard Rakell has 23 points with a team-high 15 apples on the year. Adam Henrique has 18 points with 11 goals while Cam Fowler and Ryan Getzlaf each have double-digit assist marks as well for the Ducks on the year. As a team, Anaheim is averaging 2.2 goals on 26.7 shots with an 11.1% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.1 goals on 31.2 shots against with a 79.1% success rate on the PK this season.
Vegas is 5-1 in their last 6 road games and 53-23 in their last 76 games overall while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 Sunday games. Anaheim is 17-35 in their last 52 games overall and 15-38 in their last 53 home games while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a home underdog. The under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.
Vegas is the far superior team here and is the only team that’s really doing anything involving the playoffs in about a month, but I wonder if this is a spot where the Ducks finally show some grit and step up to the occasion. With that said, I think a safe play is the under here, as it’s hit in each of the last three meetings between the two sides and I just don’t see a high-scoring game in this one so once again, give me the under.
