As a team, Pittsburgh is averaging 3.3 goals on 29.6 shots with a 23% success rate on the power play while allowing 2.8 goals against on 29.6 shots with a 76.8% success rate on the PK this season.
The Buffalo Sabres will look to build on their huge 5-2 upset win over the Washington Capitals in their last matchup. Sam Reinhart leads the Sabres in scoring with 27 points including a team-high 15 goals and 12 assists while Victor Olofsson has 25 points with 12 goals and 13 assists. Pittsburgh is 5-1 in their last 6 games as a road favorite and 8-3 in their last 11 games overall while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Buffalo is 13-38 in their lat 51 games overall and 4-17 in their last 21 home games while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games as an underdog. The favorite is 38-18 in the last 56 meetings between these two teams.
I can understand allure with a home dog and big plus money, but realistically, the Sabres are this big of a dog for a reason. There’s not much going right for this team and while a win over the Capitals is a nice surprise, it’s not going to be sustainable in the grand scheme of things. O think the Penguins are just another level ahead of there the Sabres are right now and while backing the Sabres at points pays off, blindly backing them until they cash does more harm than good to your bankroll, and I won’t be a part of that. Give me the Penguins -1.5 as I see the Pens winning this game 5-2.
