The Columbus Blue Jackets and the Dallas Stars meet in NHL action from the American Airlines Center on Thursday night.
The Columbus Blue Jackets will look to bounce back from a 4-3 OT loss to the Chicago Blackhawks in their last game. Oliver Bjorkstrand leads the Blue Jackets in scoring with 32 points including a team-high 14 goals and 18 assists while Jack Roslovic has 28 points with a team-high 20 assists and Cam Atkinson also has 28 points with 14 goals of his own and 14 assists. Seth Jones has 22 points with 18 assists and Patrik Laine also has 20 points with 12 goals on the year. as a team, Columbus is averaging 2.5 goals on 29.1 shots with a 14% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.2 goals on 31.8 shots per game against with a 78.1% kill rate on the PK this season.
The Dallas Stars will be out to bounce back from a 3-2 loss to Florida in their last game. Joe Pavelski leads Dallas in scoring with 38 points including a team-high 16 goals and 22 assists while Roope Hintz heas 32 points wth 13 goals and 19 assists and Jason Robertson’s on 29 points with 12 goals and 17 assists this season. John Klingberg, Jamie Benn and Miro Heiskanen all have 20+ points and double-digit assists as well this season for Dallas. As a team, Dallas is averaging 2.8 goals on 29.4 shots with a 25.2% success rate on the power play while allowing 2.5 goals on 27.4 shots against with a 78.4% success rate on the PK this season.
Columbus is 22-47 in their last 69 games overall and 5-11 in their last 16 games as a road underdog while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games as an underdog. The over is 3-1-2 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
I think this might be the lone game on the card that is almost unbettable, as I’m not laying this heavy juice or the puck line with the Stars and Columbus isn’t playing well enough to warrant taking a shot on the plus money, even for a couple of bucks. I’ll lean towards the under simply because neither of these teams have been anything special on the offensive end this season, but I could see the game finishing as a push at 5 so pretty much a stay away spot for me.
