The Nashville Predators and the Chicago Blackhawks meet in NHL action from the United Center on Saturday night.
The Nashville Predators will be out to build on their 7-1 romp over Detroit last time out. Filip Forsberg leads the Predators in scoring with 29 points including team-highs of 11 goals and 18 assists while Roman Josi has 19 points with 17 assists and Calle Jarnkrok’s on 15 points with 9 goals and 6 assists this season. As a team, Nashville is averaging 2.4 goals on 30.6 shots per game with a 20.4% success rate on the PP while allowing 3.1 goals on 30.8 shots with a 71.9% success rate on the PK this season.
The Chicago Blackhawks will look to build on their 3-0 win over the Blackhawks last time out. Patrick Kane leads the Blackhawks in scoring with 46 points including 13 goals and a team-high 33 assists while Alex DeBrincat’s got that assist number in points with 33 points coming on a team-high 16 goals with 17 assists. Dominik Kubalik has 26 points with 11 goals and 15 assists while Mattias Janmark and Pius Suter each have 10 goals this season for Chicago. As a team, the Blackhawks are averaging 2.9 goals on 29.3 shots with a 28.3 % success rate on the power play while allowing 3.1 goals on 34.1 shots against per game with a 73.6% success rate defending the PK this season.
Nashville is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 8-20 in their last 28 games as an underdog while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win. Chicago is 4-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite and 1-4 in their last 5 games following a win while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall. The Predators are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between these two teams.
The Preds getting even/plus money is worth a look considering they’ve been playing better lately, but we can’t forget that this is still Nashville on the road and the Predators haven’t had a ton of luck away from Bridgestone Arena this season. Chicago’s had their bumps as well, but they’re having the bulk of their success at home and maybe catching Nashville here is a way to kickstart the Blackhawks again. I’ll back Chicago on home ice here.
