The Buffalo Sabres and the Boston Bruins meet in NHL action from the TD Garden on Saturday afternoon.
The Buffalo Sabres will look to bounce back from a 4-0 loss to Pittsburgh for their 16th straight loss. Victor Olofsson leads the Sabres in scoring with 21 points including 9 goals and 12 assists while Sam Reinhart has a team-high 11 goals with 9 assists. Jack Eichel has 18 points with a team-high 16 assists while Taylor Hall has 17 points with 15 assists as well this season. As a team, Buffalo is averaging 2.1 goals on 27.6 shots per game with a 24.1% success rate on the PP this season. On defense, Buffalo’s allowing 3.5 goals on 31.6 shots against with a 77.9% kill rate on the PK.
The Boston Bruins will try to rebound from a 4-3 loss to the Islanders last time out. Brad Marchand leads the B’s in scoring with 34 points including 12 goals and a team-high 22 assists while David Pastrnak has 26 points with a team-high 14 goals and 12 apples. Patrice Bergeron has 25 points with 10 goals and 15 assists while Charlie McAvoy and David Krejci each have 16 assists this season. As a team, Boston is averaging 2.7 goals on 31.6 shots per game with a 25% success rate on the PP while allowing 2.3 goals on 26.8 shots with an 89.4% kill rate on the PK this season.
Buffalo is 14-39 in their last 53 games overall and 15-51 in their last 66 road games while the under is 3-1-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. Boston is 2-5 in their last 7 games as a favorite and 1-5 in their last 6 Saturday games while the under is 8-1-1 in their last 10 games as a favorite. Buffalo is 7-20 in the last 27 meetings between these two teams.
Like I said, It’s at the point now where you just blindly fade the Buffalo Sabres on the puck line, and honestly, it may be like this for the rest of the season. The Sabres are just a disaster right now and I don’t see things getting better any time soon if we’re being honest. Give me Boston -1.5 and I wouldn’t be surprised if I pushed it to -2.5 as I could see a 4-0 or 4-1 result here.
