The Nashville Predators and the Dallas Stars meet in NHL action from the American Airlines Center on Sunday night.
The Nashville Predators will try to rebound from a 2-0 loss to the Florida Panthers in their last matchup. Filip Forsberg leads the Predators in scoring with 27 points including ateam-highs of 10 goals and 17 assists while Roman Josi has 16 points with 14 assists. Calle Jarnkrok also has 15 points with 9 goals and 6 assists this season. As a team, Nashville is averaging 2.3 goals per game on 30.8% shot with a 19% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.2 goals on 31.1 shots against per game with a 70.5% success rate on the PK.
The Dallas Stars will look to build on their 3-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings last time out. Joe Pavelski leads the Stars in scoring with team-highs of 14 goals and 13 assists while John Klingberg’s on 18 points with 13 assists as well and Roope Hint has 17 points with 8 goals and 9 assists this season. As a team, Dallas is averaging 2.8 goals on 29.2 shots per game with a 23.6% success rate on the PP while allowing 2.6 goals on 27.4 shots against per game and a 77.6% kill rate on the PK this season.
Nashville is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record and 3-7 in their last 10 games overall while the under is 4-1-1 in their last 6 road games. Dallas is 2-9 in their last 11 home games and 0-6 in their last 5 games following a win while the over is 4-0-2 in their last 6 home games. Nashville is 3-7 in the last 10 meetings and 2-5 in the 7 meetings between these two teams in Dallas.
I really don’t want much to do with either of these teams in their current form, as the Predators are still untrustworthy on the road while Dallas has been bad overall. With that said, Dallas has still been playing pretty good defense this season it’s just been the offense that’s failed Dallas but with how Nashville’s given up goals in bunches this season, I don’t think that’ll be an issue. Give me Dallas here.
