The St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks meet Saturday in NHL action at the SAP Center.
The St. Louis Blues need a win after losing five of their last six games. The St. Louis Blues are averaging three goals per game and are scoring on 19.5 percent of their power play opportunities. Brayden Schenn leads St. Louis with 12 goals, David Perron has 18 assists and Torey Krug has 69 shots on goal. Defensively, the St. Louis Blues are allowing 3.2 goals per game and are killing 73.7 percent of their opponents power plays. Jordan Binnington has allowed 57 goals on 596 shots and Ville Husso has allowed 31 goals on 257 shots.
The San Jose Sharks need a win after losing eight of their last 12 games. The San Jose Sharks are averaging 2.8 goals per game and are scoring on 19.8 percent of their power play opportunities. Logan Couture leads San Jose with 13 goals, Evander Kane has 14 assists and Timo Meier has 72 shots on goal. Defensively, the San Jose Sharks are allowing 3.5 goals per game and are killing 77.9 percent of their opponents power plays. Martin Jones has allowed 52 goals on 449 shots and Devan Dubnyk has allowed 40 goals on 416 shots.
The Sharks are 3-9 in their last 12 home games and 1-4 in their last 5 games playing on 0 days rest. The Blues are 9-4 in their last 13 road games and 0-5 in their last 5 overall. The over is 3-1-1 in Blues last 5 games playing on 0 days rest. The under is 4-1-1 in Sharks last 6 overall. The Blues are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in San Jose and 8-3 in the last 11 meetings.
The St. Louis Blues aren't in a position for me to be thrilled about laying juice, but this is a reasonable price for them and they have played some of their best hockey on the road. The Blues also beat the Sharks last night in a shootout, a performance that could be the shot in the arm this team needed. The San Jose Sharks are one of those teams you need some decent plus money to take a chance with, and they've had no success playing on the end of back to backs. I'll lay the reasonable price with the Blues on the road.
