The Chicago Blackhawks and the Florida Panthers meet in NHL action from the BB&T Center on Monday night.
The Chicago Blackhawks will look to bounce back from a 4-2 loss to the Panthers on Saturday. Patrick Kane leads the Blackhawks with 41 points including 11 goals and a team-high 30 assists, with more assists than Alex DeBrincat has points sitting in 2nd with 29 points with a team-high 15 goals and 14 assists. As a team, Chicago is averaging 29.8 shots per game with a 29.5% success rate on the power play while allowing 3.1 goals per game on 34.4 shots against per contest, the most in the NHL, along with a 74.4% kill rate on the PK this season.
The Florida Panthers will be looking to add to their win over the Blackhawks from their last outing. Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Panthers in scoring with 32 points including 10 goals and a team-high 22 assists while Aleksander Barkov has 31 points with a team-high 11 goals and 20 assists this season. Patric Hornqvist also has 11 goals for the Cats this season. As a team, Florida is averaging 3.4 goals per game on a league-high 34 shots per game with a 25.6% success rate on the power play while giving up 2.8 goals per game on 31.1 shots against per contest with a 78.8% success rate on the penalty kill this season.
Chicago is 7-3 in their last 10 road games and 1-4 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games overall. Florida is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 37-17 in their last 54 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-0-2 in their last 6 games overall. Chicago is 1-5 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
Again, the allure is on Chicago and the plus money because of how well the Blackhawks have treated us this season in the underdog role. However, the Blackhawks are still sliding right now, and the loss to Florida on Saturday doesn’t really help matters. I just think that at home, the Panthers are playing too well to really go against right now, so I’ll lay the juice with the Panthers in this spot.
