The Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Stars meet in NHL action from the American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night.
The Chicago Blackhawks will look to rebound from a 6-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning in their last outing. Patrick Kane leads Chicago in scoring with 11 goals and a team-high 27 assists while Alex DeBrincat has a team-high 14 goals with 14 assists for his 28 points on the year. Dominik Kubalik has 20 points with 9 goals and 11 assists while Mattias Janmark’s got 14 points with 8 goals and 6 assists and Pius Suter is right behind with 8 goals and 5 apples for his 13 points. Carl Soderberg has 11 points and Adam Boqvist and Philipp Kurashev each have 10 points on the year as well. Kevin Lankinen continues to lead the way in goal for Chicago with 9 wins and a shutout in 17 appearances with a 2.76 GAA while Malcolm Subban has a 4-3 record with a shutout and a 2.63 GAA this season.
The Dallas Stars will try to rebound from a 4-3 defeat at the hands of Nashville in their last matchup. Joe Pavelski leads Dallas in scoring with 23 points coming on a team-high 12 goals with 11 assists while John Klingberg has 15 points with a team-high 12 assists. Miro Heiskanen has 13 points with 11 assists while Denis Gurianov and Roope Hintz each have 12 points and Alex Radulov and Jamie Benn each have 11 points on the year. Anton Khudobin and John Oettinger continue to share goaltending duties for Dallas, with Khudobin chipping in 4 wins with a pair of shutouts and a 2.60 GAA in 12 appearances while Oettinger has 3 wins, a shutout and a 2.12 GAA in 10 appearances.
Chicago is 6-1 in their last 7 road games and 4-1 in their last 5 games as a road underdog while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Dallas is 3-13 in their last 16 games overall and 1-7 in their last 8 home games while the under is 39-19-7 in their last 65 games as a home favorite. The under is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams and 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Dallas.
I went back and forth on this game and realistically, I think this game is going to be a battle. As bad as Dallas has been playing, it’s been the offense that’s failed them more often than not and Chicago’s looked improved defensively with Lankinen in goal. I think this could end up being a 3-2 or 2-1 game whichever way you have it, so I’ll back the under in this one.
