The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Dallas Stars meet in NHL action from the American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will look to build on their 5-0 win over the Stars in their last matchup. Victor Hedman, Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point all have 19 points with Hedman logging 4 goals and 15 assists while Stamkos has a team-high 10 goals with 9 assists and Point has 7 goals and 12 helpers this season. Mikhail Sergachev and Ondrej Palat each have 15 points with Sergachev logging 14 assists while Palat has 8 goals and 7 assists. Anthony Cirelli has 12 poitns with 5 goals and 7 helpers and Alex Killorn has 10 points with 3 goals and 7 assists. Andrei Vasilevskiy continues to start the bulk of Tampa’s games in goal, going 12-4 with a pair of shutouts and a 1.75 GAA.
The Dallas Stars will be out to bounce back from their disappointing showing against the Bolts last time out. Joe Pavelski leads the Stars in scoring with 20 points split between 10 goals and 10 assists while John Klingberg has 14 points with 3 goals and 11 assists. Alex Radulov and Denis Gurianov each have 11 points with Radulov logging 3 goals with 8 assists and Gurianov chipping in 4 goals and 7 apples. Roope Hintz also has 10 points for Dallas coming on 4 goals and 6 helpers this season. Anton Khudobin has picked up 4 wins and a pair of shutouts with a 2.72 GAA while John Oettinger has a 2.31 GAA with a pair of wins for Dallas this season.
Tampa Bay is 52-14 in their last 66 games against a team with a losing record and 58-22 in their last 80 games overall while the under is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games as a favorite. Dallas is 1-8 in their last 9 games overall and 1-5 in their last 6 games as a home underdog while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Tampa Bay is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
I’m not overly sure what’s going on with Dallas right now and maybe getting home will get this Dallas team wake up. However, The Lightning are back to looking like a cup contender and while the play could be slightly improved on the road, the Stars just haven’t had it going on right now and I’m not sure a matchup with the Lightning is the right place to try and fix it. I’ll lay the juice with Tampa Bay here.
