The Vegas Golden Knights and the Anaheim Ducks meet in NHL action from the Honda Center on Saturday night.
The Vegas Golden Knights will look to build on a 3-0 win over Colorado in their last matchup. Mark Stone leads the Golden Knights in scoring with 17 points including 4 goals and a team-high 13 assists while Alex Tuch, Jonathan Marchessault and Max Pacioretty all have 13 points. Tuch has 7 goals with 6 assists while MArchessault flipped the stats with 6 goals and 7 helpers while Pactioretty has a team-high 8 goals with 5 assists and a team-high 66 shots on goal this year. William Karlsson’s got 12 points with 3 goals and 9 assists while Shea Theodore has 11 points with 3 goals and 8 helpers. Marc-Andre Fleury continues to start and thrive in goal for Vegas, going 8-3 with a 1.55 GAA and 3 shutouts in 11 appearances this season.
The Anaheim Ducks will try to bounce back from a 4-3 loss to the Arizona Coyotes in their last matchup. Max Comtois leads Anaheim with 13 points including 8 goals with 5 assists while Cam fowler has 9 points with 7 assists. Jakob Silfverberg’s got 8 points split between 4 goals and 4 assists and Ryan Getzlaf and Rickard Rakell each have 7 points with 6 assists. John Gibson has started 16 games for Anaheim, going 5-10 with 3 shutouts and a 2.67 GAA on the year.
Vegas is 35-17 in their last 52 games overall and 7-2 in their last 9 Saturday games while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games overall. Anaheim is 0-5 in their last 5 games overall and 1-5 in their last 6 home games while the under is 11-5-1 in their last 17 games as an underdog. The favorite is 10-2 in the last 12 meetings between these two teams.
I get that Vegas is the better team here and should be favored. However, and people know have followed me will be shocked that I’m saying this, but I think there’s value to be had with the Ducks at least on the puck line. The last three games between the two have been decided by one goal apiece, and it almost seems like Anaheim is the one team that Vegas should beat handily that they just have issues getting past. I’ll take my shot with Anaheim with the goal on the puck line.
Chris’s Pick Anaheim +1.5
