The Philadelphia Flyers and the Buffalo Sabres meet in NHL action from the KeyBank Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Philadelphia Flyers will look to build off of a 4-3 win over the Rangers in their last game. James van Riemsdyk leads the Flyers in scoring with 22 points coming on 9 goals and 13 assists while Kevin Hayes has 16 points with 7 goals and 9 assists and Joel Farabee has 8 goals with 7 assists for his 15 points on the year. Claude Giroux has 14 points with 13 assists and Jakub Voracek continues to log 12 points with 3 goals and 9 assists. Carter Hart continues to see the bulk of Philly’s action between the pipes with 5 wins and a 3.68 GAA while Brian Elliott has 4 wins with a shutout and a 2.38 GAA.
The Buffalo Sabres will look to rebound from a 4-3 loss to the Devils in their last matchup. Victor Olofsson leads the Sabres in scoring with 15 points including 7 goals and 8 assists while Sam Reinhart has 7 goals with 7 assists for his 14 points and Jack Eichel also has 14 points with 12 assists for Buffalo. Taylor Hall has 12 points with 11 assists for Buffalo while Eric Staal and Rasmus Dahlin each have 8 points on the year with Staal putting up 3 goals with 5 assists and Dahlin logging 7 assists. Linus Ullmark continues to see the bulk of the starts in goal for Buffalo with 5 wins and a 2.44 GAA in 12 appearances while Carter Hutton has a win and a 3.24 GAA in 6 appearances.
Philadelphia is 12-5 in their last 17 road games and 13-5 in their last 18 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall. Buffalo is 2-6 in their last 8 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 home games while the under is 7-1-1 in their last 9 games as an underdog. The home team is 12-3 in the last 15 meetings between these two teams.
The Issue I have with the Flyers is that they’ve still got a laundry list of guys on the shelf, whether it’s because of injuries, COVID or whatnot. Buffalo let one slip against the Devils, but the Sabres still do their best work at home and this ay be Buffalo’s best chance at sneaking one from the Flyers. I’ll take a shot with Buffalo and the plus money here.
Chris’s Pick Buffalo +120
