The Nashville Predators and the Dallas Stars meet in NHL action from the American Airlines Center on Monday night.
The Nashville Predators will look to bounce back from a 4-2 loss to Detroit in their last matchup. Filip Forsberg leads the Predators in scoring with 14 points coming on 7 goals and 7 assists while Matt Duchene and Roman Josi each have 8 points with Duchene registering 3 goals and 5 assists while Josi’s got 2 goals and 6 helpers this season. Mikael Granlund and Ryan Ellis each have 7 points with Granlund logging 3 goals and 4 assists and Ellis having 2 goals and 5 helpers. Juuse Saros and Pekka Rinne have each made 9 appearances and each have 3 wins with Saros logging a 3.66 GAA while Rinne’s got a 2.74 GAA this season.
The Dallas Stars could use a win that would snap a five-game losing streak after a 4-3 shootout loss to Carolina last time out. Joe Pavelski leads the Stars in scoring with 17 points including 9 goals and 8 helpers while John Klingberg’s got 2 goals and 10 assists for his 12 points. Alexander Radulov and Denis Gurianov each have 11 points with Radulov logging 3 goals with 8 assists while Gurianov has 4 goals and 7 helpers. Roope Hintz also has 4 goals and 6 assists for the Stars this season. Anton Khudobin and John Oettinger have split the goalie workload, with Khudobin going 3-3 with a shutout and a 2.75 GAA while Oettinger has a 2-2 mark with a 2.31 GAA.
Nashville is 1-7 in their last 8 road games and 0-7 in their last 7 games as an underdog while the over is 4-1-1 in their last 6 Monday games. Dallas is 0-5 in their last 5 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 home games while the over is 4-1-2 in their last 7 Monday games. Nashville is 2-7 in the last 9 meetings between these two teams and 1-5 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams in Dallas.
This is a hard one to call between two teams that are in the driver’s seat of the struggle bus in a big way. However, Dallas has had a fair bit of success at home and the defense has still been showing up, it’s the offense that’s stalled. Nashville has had little luck on the road wherever they’ve gone, and I simply need to see more from the Preds before instilling any faith in them on the road. I’ll side with the Stars in regulation to get this hefty money line price down.
