The Chicago Blackhawks and the Dallas Stars meet in NHL action from the American Airlines Arena on Tuesday night.
The Chicago Blackhawks will look to build on a 2-1 win over Dallas in overtime in their last matchup. Patrick Kane leads Chicago in scoring with 17 points including 6 goals and 11 assists while Alex DeBrincat has 6 goals and 6 assists for his 12 points and Dominik Kubalik has 11 points with 3 goals and 8 assists. Mattias Janmark and Dylan Strome each have 8 points with 4 goals and 4 assists while Pius Suter has 7 points with 4 goals and 3 assists. Kevin Lankinen’s picked up 4 wins in goal for Chicago this season, posting a 2.32 GAA in 8 appearances in the process.
The Dallas Stars will look to rebound from the 2-1 loss to the Blackhawks as previously mentioned from Sunday. Joe Pavelski leads the Stars in scoring with 15 points coming on 7 goals and 8 assists while Alexander Radulov has 11 points with 3 goals and 8 assists and John Klingberg has 10 points with 2 goals and 8 assists. Denis Gurianov has 9 points with 4 goals and 5 assists and Roope Hintz and Miro Heiskanen each have 7 points with a combined 12 assists between the two. Anton Khudobin and John Oettinger have split the goaltending duties for Dallas early on this season, with Khudobin posting 3 wins with a shutout and a 2.51 GAA while Oettinger has a pair of wins and a 2.27 GAA this season.
Chicago is 5-18 in their last 23 road games and 4-12 in their last 16 games as an underdog while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. Dallas is 4-1 in their last 5 home games and 1-4 in their last 5 games overall while the over is 5-2 in their last 7 games as a favorite. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams and 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams in Dallas.
I went back and forth trying to make a case for both sides, but I don’t want to play the Stars on the money line at this price and the puck line doesn’t do anything for me. On the other hand we’re getting decent plus money with Chicago, but all of Chicago’s success has come at home. Instead, I’m going to side with the under. Dallas loves to employ a physical, rough, defensive style of hockey to begin with, and Kevin Lankinen’s been a bit of a revelation in goal for the Blackhawks this season. I think this is a 3-2 game at best whichever way you slice it, so give me the under in this one.
