The Tampa Bay Lightning and the Nashville Predators face off in NHL action from the Bridgestone Arena on Monday night.
The Tampa Bay Lightning will look to build off of a 3-1 win over Detroit in their last outing. Victor Hedman, Steven Stamkos and Brayden Point each have 10 points on the year with Stamkos and Point each posting 4 goals and 6 assists while Hedman’s got 3 goals and 7 assists this season. Anthony Cirelli has 2 goals and 6 assists while Alex Killorn, Blake Coleman, Barclay Goodrow and Ondrej Palat all have 6 points with Killorn, Coleman and Goodrow all logging 2 goals and 4 assists while Palat has 4 goals and 2 helpers on the year. Andrei Vasilevskiy has still started all nine games for Tampa Bay, going 7-2 with a 1.88 GAA this season.
The Nashville Predators will look to bounce back following a 2-1 loss to Florida last time out. Filip Forsberg has 11 points with 6 goals and 5 assists on the year to lead the Preds while Viktor Arvidsson has 7 points with 2 goals and 5 assists. Mikael Granlund and Roman Josi each have 6 points with Josi putting up 3 goals and 3 assists and Granlund having 2 goals and 4 helpers. Matt Duchene, Nick Cousins and Ryan Ellis all have 5 pints with Duchene logging 2 goals and 3 assists and Cousins and Ellis each logging 4 assists while Erik Haula and Ryan Johansen each have 4 assists as well. Juuse Saros and Pekka Rinne continue to split goaltending duties, with Saros logging 3 wins with a 3.31 GAA while Rinne has 2 wins and a 2.77 GAA this season.
Tampa Bay is 51-19 in their last 70 games overall and 67-32 in their last 99 road games while the over is 6-2-2 in their last 10 games following a win. Nashville is 5-1 in their last 6 home games and 16-5 in their last 21 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the over is 3-1-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog. Tampa Bay is 6-13 in the last 19 meetings between these two teams and 2-7 in the last 9 meetings between these two teams in Nashville.
I agree with Tampa Bay being favored on the road, because they were going to be all along. However, Nashville is no slouch and this is a Predators team that’s gone 4-1 at home to start the year while Tampa Bay’s success has mostly been at home to start the year. I’ll take a shot with Nashville and the plus money here.
