The Carolina Hurricanes and the Columbus Blue Jackets meet in NHL action from the Nationwide Arena on Sunday afternoon.

James Reimer’s started the bulk of the action lately with Petr Mrazek on the shelf with a thumb injury, but Reimer’s done well, posting a 4-1 record with a .900 save percentage and a 2.78 GAA this season.
The Columbus Blue Jackets will try to build off of a 4-3 win over Dallas last time out. Carolina is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 6-2 in their last 8 games as a road favorite while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 Sunday games. Columbus is 12-25 in their last 37 games overall and 3-7 in their last 10 games as an underdog while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 home games. Carolina is 0-4 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.
I get why the Hurricanes are favored here as they’ve been the better team up to this point in the season record-wise. However, the Blue Jackets have this certain grit about them, this physical style that negates the more finesse style that a lot of the young Hurricanes tend to play with. Plus you also have to figure that John Tortorella’s getting frustrated with his guys and that they’ve been going extra hard at practice lately. I’ll take a shot with the Blue Jackets and the plus money in this one.
