The Nashville Predators and the Florida Panthers meet in NHL action from BB&T Center on Friday night.
The Nashville Predators come into this one looking to build on a 6-5 win over the Panthers in OT from Thursday night. Filip Forsberg leads the Preds in scoring with 11 points including a team-high 6 goals and 5 assists while Viktor Arvidsson has 7 points with 5 assists and Mikael Granlund has 3 goals with 3 assists. Matt Duchene, Nick Cousins and Roman Josi each have 5 points with Duchene and Josi each logging 2 goals and 3 assists while Cousins has 4 assists on the year. Juuse Saros has picked up 3 wins in goal with a 3.31 GAA while Pekka Rinne has a 2.97 GAA and a pair of wins this year.
The Florida Panthers will look to respond after their loss to the Predators on Thursday. Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Panthers with 12 points, including 4 goals and a team-high 8 assists while Aleksander Barkov has 9 points with 3 goals and 6 assists and Patric Hornqvist has 8 points with 5 goals and 3 assists. Keith Yandle and Carter Verhaeghe have 7 points each with Verhaeghe logging 5 goals while Yandle has 5 assists. Aaron Ekblad and Anthony Duclair each have 6 points with Ekblad logging 3 goals and 3 assists while Duclair has 6 assists as well for Florida. Sergei Bobrovsky has a 3-1 record in 4 starts with a 3.57 GAA while Chris Driedger’s picked up a pair of wins with a 1.95 GAA this season.
Nashville is 2-5 in their last 7 games overall and 1-6 in their last 7 road games while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games as an underdog. Florida is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall and 35-17 in their last 52 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 34-16-3 in their last 53 home games.
This matchup on Thursday was a great game that went to OT and I think we could see some of the similar fireworks in the rematch. The goaltending’s been questionable in Nashville to say the least and Florida’s didn’t look great last night either. But there’s clearly offensive talent on both sides here, so I’ll side with the over in this spot.
