The Minnesota Wild and the Colorado Avalanche meet in NHL action from the Ball Center on Tuesday night.
The Minnesota Wild will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last four games following a 4-3 win over the Avs last time out. Joel Greenway leads the Wild in scoring with 10 points including a team-high 8 assists while Joel Eriksson Ek has 9 points with 5 goals and 4 assists. Kirill Kaprizov has 8 points with 2 goals and 6 assists while Ryan Suter and Jonas Brodin each have 6 points with Suter logging 6 assists and Brodin has 2 goals and 4 assists. Kaapo Kahkonen and Cam Talbot each have 3 wins in goal for Minnesota, with Talbot posting a 2.49 GAA while Kahkonen putting up a 2.86 GAA this season.
The Colorado Avalanche will try to bounce back after their loss to the Wild last time out. Nathan MacKinnon has 14 points with a team-high 12 assists while Cale Makar has 11 points with 10 assists. Mikko Rantanen has 10 points with a team-high 7 goals while Samuel Girard has 9 points with 8 assists. Brandon Saad, Gabriel Landeskog and Andre Burakovsky each have 8 points with Saad posting 5 goals and 3 assists while Burakovsky and Landeskog each have 3 goals and 5 assists. Nazem Kadri and Joonas Donskoi each have 7 points with Donskoi putting up 5 goals and Kadri logging 3 goals and 4 helpers. Phillip Grubauer has started all 8 games for Colorado, posting a 6-2 record with a 1.75 GAA with a pair of shutouts.
Minnesota is 11-3 in their last 14 road games and 2-5 in their last 7 games following a win while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall. Colorado is 4-0 in their last 4 Tuesday games and 49-22 in their last 71 games playing on 1 days rest while the over is 14-6 in their last 20 games overall. The over is 5-1-1 in the last 7 meetings between these two teams in Colorado.
I get Colorado being favored here and while I have bashed the Wild a lot this season, I think this could be a prime value spot on Minnesota. Both of these teams have the same record when you combine regulation and extra time losses, and the Wild just beat the Avs on Sunday. This price is simply on name brand because of people thinking that the Avs are a cup contender. Evenly matched teams, but one’s getting over 1.5 times my money? Sign me up. I’ll take Minnesota and the plus money in this spot.
