The St. Louis Blues and the Anaheim Ducks meet in NHL action from the Honda Center on Sunday night.
The St. Louis Blues will look to add to their 6-1 rout of the Ducks in game one of the back-to-back last time out. Jordan Kyrou leads the Blues in scoring with 10 points coming on 5 goals and 5 assits while David Perron and Brayden Schenn each have 4 goals and 4 assists for their 8 points this season. Jaden Schwartz has 7 points with 2 goals and 5 assists and Ryan O’Reilly has 6 goals with 5 assists as well this season. Jordan Binnington got the start in the first half of the double dip so it’s expected that Ville Husso will start here with an 0-1 record and a paltry 7.03 GAA but against these Anaheim Ducks, this may be a good shot to get that average down.
The Anaheim Ducks will look to finally put some offense together and bounce back after their loss on Saturday. Carter Rowney and Ryan Getzlaf each have 4 assists for their team-high 4 points while Max Comtois also has 4 points with 3 goals and an assist this season. Danton Heinen, Nicolas Deslauriers, Jakob Slifverberg and Rickard Rakell each have 3 points with Heinen, Deslauriers and Silfverberg logging 2 goals and an assist while Rakell has a goal and a pair of helpers this season. John Gibson was chased from Saturday’s game, so it’ll be interesting who Anaheim decides to start in goal for this one.
St. Louis is 5-1 in their last 6 games as a road favorite and 10-4 in their last 14 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Anaheim is 3-7 in their last 10 games overall and 2-5 in their last 7 games as a home underdog while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. The road team is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
IT’s expected to be a battle of the backups here and even so, I’ve still gotta ride the Blues here. St. Louis is finally turning the corner while Anaheim continues to stall and it continues to be the lack of offense that is the Ducks’ downfall. I just don’t trust this Anaheim team as far as I can throw them and as such, I’ll be siding with St. Louis on the puckline to win by two for the second straight game.
Chris’s Pick St. Louis Blues -1.5
