The St. Louis Blues and the Anaheim Ducks meet in NHL action from the Honda Center on Saturday night.
The St. Louis Blues will look to build off of a 5-4 win over Vegas last time out. Jordan Kyrou leads the Blues in scoring with 7 poitns including 3 goals and 4 assists while David Perron, Brayden Schenn and Jaden Schwartz each have 6 goals with Schenn logging 4 goals and Schwartz putting up 4 assists while Perron has 3 goals and 3 helpers on the year. Ryan O’Reilly has 5 points with 4 assists and Robert Thomas has 4 assists as well for St. Louis. Jordan Binnington’s seen the majority of the work for St. Louis in goal with 4 wins and a 2.74 GAA this season.
The Anaheim Ducks will look to pick up a confidence building win after a 3-2 loss to Arizona last time out. Carter Rowney and Max Comtois each have a team-high 4 poitns with Rowney logging 4 assists while Comtois has 3 goals and a helper. Danton Heinen, Nicolas Deslauriers, Jakob Slifverberg and Ryan Getzlaf all have 3 points with Heinen, Deslauriers and Silfverberg each putting up a pair of goals while Getzlaf has 3 assists. John Gibson’s seen the majority of the work in net for Anaheim with a 3-4 record and a 1.87 GAA with a pair of shutouts this season.
St. Louis is 9-4 in their last 13 road games and 36-17 in their last 53 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Anaheim is 3-7 in their last 10 games as an underdog and 7-3 in their last 10 Saturday games while the under is 6-0-1 in their last 7 games overall. The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams.
I’m going to back the under here. Anaheim once again can’t figure out how to score and it’s gotta be getting frustrated for a guy like John Gibson who continues to stand on his head for the Ducks night after night and getting no results. On the other hand, St. Louis is doing their job, but I think this is a one goal game no matter which way you slice it, essentially sucking all the value out of this game. I do think this one sets up to be low-scoring and at 3-2 either way so that’s why I think the under is the way to go here.
