The Dallas Stars and the Tampa Bay Lightning meet in game three of their best-of-seven Stanley Cup Final series in NHL action from Rogers Place on Wednesday.
The Dallas Stars will look to bounce back after a 3-2 loss to the Lightning in game two evened the series up one win apiece last time out.
The first half of the first period saw little action but the Bolts would surge out to a 3-0 lead thanks to Brayden Point’s power-play goal just after the midway point of the opening period. Ondrej Palat would double the lead for the Bolts just under three minutes later and Kevin Shattenkirk would push the Tampa Bay lead to 3-0 just:54 later, and the Bolts would ride that lead into the second when Joe Pavelski got the Stars on the board late in the second period and Mattias Janmark made it 3-2 just after the five-minute mark of the 3rd, but despite Dallas’ best efforts, with just five shots on goal for the Stars, Dallas wouldn’t get any closer as the Stars had the door slammed in their face the rest of the way. Andrei Vasilevskiy got the win in goal for Tampa Bay after stopping 27 of 29 shots faced in the win while Anton Khudobin took the loss for the Stars after giving up 3 goals on 31 shots faced in defeat.
Dallas is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog while the under is 4-0-3 in their last 7 games overall. Tampa Bay is 41-16 in their last 57 games overall and 5-13 in their last 18 games against the Central division while the under is 2-0-3 in their last 5 games overall.
I’m tempted by the Stars and the plus money, but I just think that as much as I can’t stand the Lightning, I just think Game two kind of summarized where game three is going to be on Wednesday. I expect the Stars to battle, but in the end, I just envision the Lightning emerging from the dust and rubble and I think the Lightning get the job done here and go up in the series so I’ll lay the juice with Tampa Bay as my free pick for this game but my stronger play is on the total and I have that available as a premium game that you can find here.
