The Arizona Coyotes and Nashville Predators meet Tuesday in game two of the NHL West Qualifying action at the Rogers Place.
The Arizona Coyotes look to take a 2-0 series lead with another victory here. The Arizona Coyotes are averaging four goals per game and are scoring on 16.7 percent of their power play opportunities. Christian Dvorak leads Arizona with one goal, Phil Kessel has two assists and Brad Richardson has four shots on goal. Defensively, the Arizona Coyotes are allowing three goals per game and are killing 60 percent of their opponents power plays. Darcy Kuemper has given up three goals on 43 shots faced.
The Nashville Predators hope to even up the series at 1-1 before game three on Wednesday. The Nashville Predators are averaging three goals per game and are scoring on 40 percent of their power play opportunities. Filip Forsberg leads Nashville with two goals, Roman Josi has two assists and Ryan Ellis has five shots on goal. Defensively, the Nashville Predators are allowing four goals per game and are killing 83.3 percent of their opponents power plays. Juuse Saros has allowed four goals on 37 shots faced.
Will update with trends once they're released.
The Nashville Predators had their chances to win game one, as they got 43 shots on goal, which includes 20 shots on goal in the third period when they finally started to find some success and almost made a full comeback. That should give the Predators some confidence heading into this game and they should like their chances if they get off to a faster start in game two. Hard to sink your teeth into a game when you give up three goals in the opening period. The Arizona Coyotes have had issues stringing wins together all season and right when I'm ready to buy into what they're selling, they fall flat on their face and continue the sloppy play. Past meetings between the Coyotes and Predators have been back and forth, and we should expect a lengthy series here.
I'll side with the Nashville Predators and the reasonable price, as they even up this series at 1-1.
