In this article we will formulate a Vikings vs Broncos prediction for this NFL game on Friday, August 28th at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this preseason matchup.

Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview

The Minnesota Vikings are 1-1 this preseason after they lost to the Ravens by a score of 13-3 in their last game. Minnesota was tied 3-3 at halftime, but they were outscored 10-0 in the second half for the loss. The Vikings out gained Baltimore by a total of 299-242, went 5-14 on third downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 2-0 in the game. Max Brosmer threw for 98 yards and one interception, while Carson Wentz threw for 92 yards and JJ McCarthy threw for 81 yards. Zavier Scott rushed seven times for 28 yards, while Tai Felton caught three passes for 66 yards in the loss.

Prior to that game, Minnesota defeated the Giants by a score of 13-10 in their first preseason game. The Vikings trailed 10-3 at halftime, but they scored 10 points in the third quarter to get the win. Carson Wentz threw for 81 yards and one touchdown, while JJ McCarthy threw for 34 yards in the game. In this game, Minnesota is expected to play McCarthy, Wentz, and Brosmer at the quarterback spot once again.

Denver Broncos Betting Preview

The Denver Broncos are 1-1 this preseason after they lost to the Packers by a score of 33-13 last week. Denver trailed 23-10 at halftime and only managed three points in the second half in the loss. The Broncos were out gained by a total of 299-225, went 5-12 on third downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 1-0 in the game. Jarrett Stidham threw for 82 yards and one interception, while Bo Nix threw for 76 yards and one touchdown. Cody Schrader rushed four times for 15 yards, while Jaylen Waddle caught one pass for 35 yards in the game.

Prior to that loss, Denver defeated the Falcons by a score of 27-7 in their first preseason game. The Broncos led 24-0 at halftime and they cruised to the easy win in the second half. Jarrett Stidham threw for 131 yards and one touchdown, while Sam Ehlinger threw for 67 yards. Cameron Ross rushed one time for 28 yards, while Courtland Sutton caught three passes for 60 yards. In this game, Denver will start Jarrett Stidham at quarterback for most of the first half, while Sam Ehlinger will finish the game.

Vikings vs Broncos Prediction

Denver comes into this matchup after a blowout loss to Green Bay last week, but I still like Stidham and Ehlinger as a QB duo in the preseason. Minnesota also looked bad last week against the Ravens, as they scored just three points. The Vikings will look for better quarterback play this week, but McCarthy has been pretty bad. I don’t love how either team has played this preseason, so I will take the points with the Vikings here.

David Racey's Pick: Vikings +3.5
