QB Jameis Winston had 89 yards on 8-of-9 passing and Eric Gray rushed eight times for 20 yards. Devin Singletary had one 40-yard catch that put him in the number one spot among receivers.

New York Jets Betting Preview

Over on the Jets’ side, they kicked things off this year with a preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. New York scored 10 points in the first quarter but got shut down to a couple field goals the rest of the way in a 24-16 loss. QB Brady Cook had 108 yards on 9-of-15 passing and Braelon Allen rushed four times for 44 yards. Tops in receiving was Cam Camper with two catches for 37 yards.

Matched up against the Pittsburgh Steelers last Friday the Jets were only up 7-0 going into the fourth quarter but found some steam in an eventual shutout win 17-0. Cade Klubnik was 10-of-14 for 75 yards and Geno Smith completed all seven of his passes for 65 yards and a TD. Quincy Skinner caught all four of his targets for a team-high 47 yards and a TD among the receivers.

Giants vs Jets Prediction

I’ll stay with the Giants. New York took care of the Dolphins pretty well last week, hitting 390 yards (257 passing), 26 first downs and 11-of-18 on third-down conversions. On defense the Giants gave up just 102 yards (52 passing) with 2.8 yards per play, three first downs and 2-of-11 on third downs. There wasn’t much to complain about at all.
As for the Jets, they were able to find some late life in the shutout victory over the Steelers, but they were unremarkable on offense for much of the game. New York managed just 12 first downs and 5-of-15 on third-down tries, but did bag 5.1 yards per play. The defense saved the day on two takeaways, 14 first downs and 5-of-16 on third-down conversions allowed. The Jets need that kind of luster on offense.

Andrew Jett's Pick: New York Giants -3
