Washington Commanders Betting Preview

The Commanders lost to the Buccaneers in their opener this year, but then hit a win streak over the Giants, Bengals, Cardinals and Browns. Following another loss to the Ravens 30-23, Washington beat the Panthers and Bears in the next pair.

In the matchup with Chicago last weekend, the Commanders improved on a 9-0 first-half advantage to secure a tight win 18-15. QB Jayden Daniels threw for 326 yards and a TD. Terry McLaurin caught five balls for 125 yards, and Brian Robinson had 65 rush yards.

New York Giants Betting Preview

Over on the Giants’ side, they posted a 1-3 run out of the gate featuring losses to the Vikings, Commanders and Cowboys (with a win over Cleveland). New York would then beat the Seahawks before two more losses to the Bengals and Eagles.

In Monday night’s matchup with the Steelers, the Giants were outscored 17-9 in the second half along the way to a 26-18 loss. QB Daniel Jones logged 264 pass yards with an interception. Tyrone Tracy led the rush with 20 carries for 145 yards and a score, while Darius Slayton had four grabs for 108 yards.

Washington Commanders vs New York Giants Prediction

I’ll probably stick with Washington. The Commanders defense kept the Bears in check last weekend, giving up 307 total yards (111 passing), 15 first downs and 2-of-12 on third-down tries. Washington gained 481 yards on offense (313 passing) with 23 first downs but went just 5-of-15 on third downs themselves.

As for the Giants, on Monday they played a pretty sloppy game with 11 penalties for 65 yards. The two turnovers and 5-of-15 effort on third downs from the offense wasn’t great either. New York gave up 427 yards total (259 passing) on defense. The Giants haven’t scored more than 18 points in any of the last three games (all losses), so they’ve got to get it moving here. I don’t quite think New York will cover in the end.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Washington Commanders -3.5
