Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Preview
The Steelers have had a wild ride already this year. After taking out the Atlanta Falcons in their opener, Pittsburgh lost by 17 on the road versus the New England Patriots. The Steelers went 2-1 in the next three games, losing to the Cleveland Browns in between victories over the Cincinnati Bengals and the Indianapolis Colts for a 3-2 start to the year.
In the Tampa Bay game the Steelers didn’t have a very good first half. Pittsburgh went into the locker room with a 13-3 deficit after a late second-quarter field goal. The Steelers got better from there though, and eventually won the game 26-19 in overtime. QB Aaron Rodgers finished with a 33-of-49 line for 253 yards, two TDs and a pick during the winning effort.
New Orleans Saints Betting Preview
Over on the Saints’ side, they haven’t had a whole lot of luck in the win column this year. New Orleans lost in OT versus the Detroit Lions in their opener then beat Baltimore in a big road matchup. The next three games were all losses though, as the Saints fell versus the Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings on the way to a 1-4 start to the year.
Matched up against the New York Giants last weekend the Saints were down 10-0 early. New Orleans then proceeded to score 34 unanswered points to build their lead 34-10. After a wild fourth quarter the Saints held on for the win 34-27. QB Tyler Shough was 16-of-30 for 144 yards and three scores. Kendre Miller rushed 20 times for 70 yards in the winning effort.

Steelers vs Saints Prediction
I’ll go with Pittsburgh but I’m not in love with it. The Steelers had a rough time dispatching a plucky Bucs team last weekend, eventually notching 300 total yards, 22 first downs and a 5-of-15 success rate on third downs in the OT victory. The defense came up with a couple of takeaways though, and held Tampa to just 17 first downs and 224 total yards in a nice effort. Pittsburgh has had some inconsistencies this year but they’ve also scored 20 or more points in all but one game so far.
As for the Saints, they got past a flailing Giants team last weekend on 18 first downs and 319 total yards. The defense gave up 23 first downs and 461 total yards on the other side, but did quite well on third downs (4-of-14). New York’s 10 penalties didn’t hurt either. The Saints are still giving up a ton of points this year though: they’ve surrendered 23 or more in all but one game (17 versus Baltimore in a victory) and 31 or more in three of six.
