Many believe the Rams are the best team in the NFL, and they’re going up against a bad Panthers team that shouldn’t be in the playoffs. The Panthers have a worse point differential than the Buccaneers and Falcons, two teams in their own division. Heck, the Panthers have a worse point differential than the Giants and Cowboys. This isn’t a good team on either side of the ball, and oddsmakers are telling you that with this line.
However, double-digit points with a home team in the playoffs is unprecedented, and it makes it hard for me to walk away. You have to go back to 2002 when the Rams were in St. Louis the last time they were double-digit postseason favorites. Carolina hasn’t been a double-digit postseason underdog since 2015. You just don’t get lines like this often, especially with the dog being at home. There’s a big gap between the teams, but I’ll grab the points if forced to pick this spot.
