Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview

The Jags went into their bye week with a 4-3 record, taking losses to the Bengals, Seahawks and Rams. The wins otherwise were over the Panthers, Texans, 49ers and Chiefs. Jacksonville lost to only Houston in their next six games, beating the Raiders, Chargers, Cardinals, Titans and Colts otherwise. That would give the Jaguars a 9-4 overall record through their first 13 games this year.

In the Jets game on Sunday the Jags were up 31-10 by the break. Jacksonville ended up scoring in every quarter during a 48-20 win. QB Trevor Lawrence finished 20-of-32 for 330 yards and five scores. Lawrence also led the rush with 51 yards and a score on five carries, and Travis Etienne had three catches for 73 yards and three touchdowns in the victory effort.

Over on the Broncos’ side, they beat the Titans in their opener then fell to the Colts and Chargers. Denver went into their bye with a long winning streak over the Bengals, Eagles, Jets, Giants, cowboys, Texans, Raiders and Chiefs, then took out the Commanders and Raiders in the next pair. Over their first 13 games of the year the Broncos managed a nice 11-2 overall record.

In the Packers game on Sunday the Broncos were down 16-14 going into the second half. Denver scored another 20 points from there and took the comeback win 34-26 in the end. Tops in receiving was Courtland Sutton with seven grabs for 113 yards and a score.

Jaguars vs Broncos Prediction

I’ll stick with the Broncos, but this should be a fun matchup regardless. Denver continued their miraculous campaign with a victory versus a good Packers team last weekend, amassing 391 yards, 302 pass yards and 21 first downs along the way. The Broncos weren’t great on third downs (4-of-11) but Green Bay’s 10 penalties didn’t hurt matters either. Denver has 11 straight wins now, with all but a couple of them coming by one score. It’s been quite the heart-attack season, but in a good way.

As for the Jags, they demolished the lowly Jets last weekend to the tune of 438 yards, 7.4 yards per play and 24 first downs. The defense gave up 284 yards on the other side with 154 pass yards, 19 first downs and three picks. Jacksonville is scoring great lately with 25 or more points in seven straight games since their bye week. This one could very well end up a pretty high total if both teams play well.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Denver Broncos -3
