Denver Broncos Betting Preview

Denver stumbled out of the gate this year but since then things have gone quite well. The Broncos beat the Titans ahead of losses to the Colts and Rams. Since then it’s been a win streak however, as Denver has dispatched the Bengals, Eagles, Jets, Giants, Cowboys, Texans, Raiders and Chiefs in the last eight outings. The result so far is a nice 9-2 record across the first 11 games of the year for the Broncos.

Back on November 16 versus the Chiefs, the Broncos gave up points in every quarter but scored nine points in the final frame to seal a tight 22-19 win at home. QB Bo Nix was 24-of-37 for 295 yards, and RJ Harvey led the rush with 30 yards on 11 carries. Troy Franklin was tops among receivers with his four catches for 84 yards in the winning effort for Denver.

Washington Commanders Betting Preview

Over on the Commanders’ side, they managed to win three of their first five games. Washington took out the Giants, Raiders and Chargers in that time, with losses otherwise versus the Packers and Falcons. Since then it’s been a six-game losing streak however. The Commanders have fallen to the Bears, Cowboys, Chiefs, Seahawks, Lions and Dolphins during that time, giving the team a rough 3-8 run through 11 games so far.

In their last outing on November 16 against the Dolphins, the Commanders gave up a fourth-quarter touchdown and an overtime field goal in a tough loss on the road 16-13. QB Marcus Mariota was 20-of-30 for 213 yards, one TD and one pick, while lead rusher Chris Rodriguez had 15 carries for 79 yards. Deebo Samuel added seven receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown as well.

Broncos vs Commanders Prediction

I’ll stay with the Broncos. Both teams have had an extra week to rest and prepare for this one, so we should see the best of each. Denver is looking good with that nice win streak, but they’ve been getting through by the skin of their proverbial teeth lately. In the KC win, the Broncos had 342 yards with just 16 first downs and 10 penalties for 147 yards in a sloppy game. The defense was pretty good though, giving up just 5-of-13 on third downs and 19 first downs total. Denver’s last three wins have each come by just three points, and they’ve scored fewer than 23 points in each of those as well.

As for Washington, they gave away the game late in their last appearance versus the Dolphins, posting a spotty 6-of-13 on third downs with a couple of turnovers. Similarly the defense was good though, giving up just 3-of-9 on third downs and 19 first downs total. Washington has been below 25 points in six straight (all losses) so it’s tough to imagine a big total from them here.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Denver Broncos -6.5
