Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview

The Cowboys opened up their preseason campaign this year with a matchup versus the Seattle Seahawks. Dallas managed to power out a 17-7 victory in that one. In game two versus the Arizona Cardinals, the Cowboys took another win. This time the final score was 34-13 thanks in part to 24 points in the first half alone. Dallas’ offense was clicking that day, bagging 413 total yards (238 passing) and 23 first downs along with 7.1 yards per play.

In their preseason finale on August 28 versus the New Orleans Saints, the Cowboys were down 24-9 going into the final quarter. Dallas made things interesting but still ended up losing 27-24. QB Sam Howell posted a 12-of-18 line for 155 yards and two TDs while Phil Mafah had 46 yards off 12 carries. Jordan Hudson caught four balls for 97 yards and a touchdown.

New York Giants Betting Preview

Over on the Giants’ side, they kicked off their preseason run with a tough loss versus the Minnesota Vikings 13-10. Game two versus the Miami Dolphins went much better, though. The Giants were up 20-3 by the end of the first half and ended up powering out the win 26-3. New York managed 390 yards (257 passing) along the way with 26 first downs and a very nice 11-of-18 success rate on third-down tries.

Matched up against the New York Jets on August 28, the Giants were able to put up points in every quarter along the way to a 23-6 win. QB Brandon Allen posted 78 yards on 8-of-12 passing and Damon Bankston rushed 11 times for 62 yards. Xavier Gipson caught two balls for 54 yards and a touchdown during the win.

Cowboys vs Giants Prediction

I’ll stay with the Cowboys. Dallas finished off their preseason with a reasonable effort versus the Saints, posting 328 total yards (237 passing), 5.4 yards per play and no turnovers. the defense gave up 326 yards (169 rushing) and 23 first downs with no takeaways on the other side. The Cowboys look primed for a playoff run this year, even in a division with the Eagles. Dallas should be able to power out 10 or 11 wins if all goes well, which will likely put the team in position for a potential Wild Card berth.

As for the Giants, they did well on defense against the Jets in their preseason finale, giving up just 139 yards (68 passing), 3.0 yards per play, 12 first downs and 3-of-10 on third-down tries. New York’s expectations this season are a bit more modest; if the Giants finish at around eight wins or so it’ll be considered quite a success. One thing’s for sure, though: the NFC East will be a fun division to watch in 2026.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Dallas Cowboys -2.5
