The Line: Betting Odds: LA Rams +4.5 / Dallas Cowboys -4.5 — Over/Under: 35.5
The Dallas Cowboys and LA Rams meet Sunday in NFL preseason week 1 action at SoFi Stadium. Here’s a Dallas Cowboys vs LA Rams Prediction. This article will include a Dallas Cowboys vs LA Rams Pick.
Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview
The Dallas Cowboys have won 12 games in each of the last 3 seasons and enter the fifth year under coach Mike McCarthy. The Cowboys have serious concerns on the offensive side when you consider they lost Tony Pollard, Michael Gallup, Tyron Smith and Tyler Biadasz. Oh, the Cowboys are also dealing with contract issues surrounding star receiver CeeDee Lamb. Dak Prescott is fine at quarterback, but the Cowboys offensive line is no longer a strength and the return of Ezekiel Elliott just doesn’t move the needle.
Defensively is where the Cowboys will shine, as a defensive line duo of DeMarcus Lawrence and Micah Parsons is as good as any in the league. A full season of Trevon Diggs will be massive, and DaRon Bland is coming off a fantastic sophomore season. The sky isn’t falling for the Cowboys, but there are concerns, and they shouldn’t be where they are in the futures market. That public money is real, folks.
LA Rams Betting Preview
The LA Rams have won double-digit games in 5 of the last 7 seasons and enter the eighth year under coach Sean McVay. The Rams suffered a massive blow with the retirement of Aaron Donald, but the rest of this team has legit playoff run potential. Matthew Stafford is still an above average quarterback at 36 years old, and he’ll have a full season of Cooper Kupp this time. Kyren Williams is coming off a 1,000 yard season, and rookie Blake Corum adds depth at the running back position.
Despite no Allen, the additions of Tre’Davious White and Darious Williams give the Rams an impressive cornerback duo, while Jared Verse is a gifted pass rusher who could come in right away and provide the pass rush void Allen left. On paper the Rams are a playoff team, should compete for a division title and will be a threat to come out of the NFC.
Dallas Cowboys vs LA Rams Prediction
As I’ve mentioned many times in the past, I’m just not excited to lay more than 3 points in a preseason game. There’s so much roster turnover and unknowns in these games that you’re going to have value when getting a decent number of points. These games are coin flips. Yes, we’re likely not going to see Matthew Stafford, and it’s been reported that Jimmy Garoppolo likely won’t play in the preseason either. A quarterback duo of Stetson Bennett and Dresser Winn isn’t appealing. Still, I’m grabbing the points with the Rams if forced to pick this game.
