Washington Commanders Betting Preview

The Washington Commanders are 4-12 this season after they lost to Dallas by a score of 30-23 in their last game. Washington trailed 24-10 at halftime, but they cut the deficit to 27-20 and 30-23, before falling just short in the comeback attempt. The Commanders were out gained by a total of 480-328, went 1-6 on third downs, and tied the turnover battle at zero in the game. Josh Johnson went 15-23 for 198 yards, while Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed 11 times for 105 yards and two scores. Deebo Samuel led the receivers with two catches for 68 yards in the loss.

Prior to that game, Washington lost to the Eagles by a score of 29-18, but did beat the Giants by a score of 29-21 before that. The Commanders have lost 10 of their last 11 games and they are currently last in the NFC East standings. Washington has scored 20.8 points per game with 187.4 passing yards and 134.2 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 27.1 points against per game this season. Josh Johnson has thrown for 241 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception, while Jacory Croskey-Merritt has rushed for 776 yards and eight scores on 162 carries. Deebo Samuel has led the receivers with 70 catches for 707 yards and five scores this season.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

The Philadelphia Eagles are 11-5 this year after they defeated Buffalo by a score of 13-12 in their last game. Philadelphia led 7-0 after the first quarter and 13-0 at halftime, but they failed to score in the second half and needed to stop a two point conversion with five seconds left to get the win. The Eagles were out gained by a total of 331-190, went 3-13 on third downs, and won the turnover battle by a total of 1-0 in the game. Jalen Hurts went 13-27 for 110 yards and one touchdown, while Saquon Barkley rushed 19 times for 68 yards. AJ Brown led the receivers with five catches for 68 yards in the win.

Prior to that game, Philadelphia defeated the Commanders by a score of 29-18 and the Raiders by a score of 31-0. The Eagles have won three games in a row and they have clinched the NFC East standings. Philadelphia has scored 22.6 points per game with 192.3 passing yards and 119.3 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 18.8 points against per game this season. The Eagles plan to rest some starters for this game, so we should see Tanner McKee get the start under center, while Tank Bigsby and Jahan Dotson should see increased workload.

Commanders vs Eagles Prediction

Philadelphia comes into this matchup with an 11-5 record and they don’t have much to play for, so we will see plenty of backups here. Washington is just 4-12 on the season and they haven’t had anything to play for in weeks. The Eagles did just beat the Commanders by a score of 29-18 on December 20th, but that game was very chippy towards the end. It is never easy to handicap a game without the starters for one side, but I think we are going to see some points. Washington has scored 18+ in four of their last five, while the Philly offense should be fine against this terrible Washington defense. Take the over here.
