The Cleveland Browns and the Chicago Bears meet in week 1 NFL preseason action from Soldier Field on Saturday. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Cleveland Browns vs. Chicago Bears Prediction.

Cleveland Browns Team Preview

The Cleveland Browns enter the 2026 season looking to turn the page after a difficult 2025 campaign that saw them finish 5-12 at the bottom of the AFC North. Despite an offensive unit that struggled to generate consistent scoring, rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders gained valuable starting reps with 1,400 passing yards, tight end Harold Fannin led the receiving corps with 731 yards, and running back Quinshon Judkins paced the ground game with 827 rushing yards, all while Myles Garrett provided an elite anchor on defense with a phenomenal 23-sack season. During the 2026 offseason, general manager Andrew Berry focused on veteran re-tooling and defensive depth, signing edge rusher A.J. Epenesa, defensive tackle Kalia Davis, safety Daniel Thomas, and wide receiver Tylan Wallace, while also re-signing key interior guard Teven Jenkins. Following the free-agent departures of linebacker Devin Bush, guard Wyatt Teller, and running back Jerome Ford, Cleveland aims to integrate its new additions alongside Garrett, Sanders, and Fannin to build a far more competitive unit in 2026.

Chicago Bears Team Preview

The Chicago Bears enter the 2026 season looking to capitalize on the momentum of a successful 11-6 campaign in 2025 under head coach Ben Johnson that saw them capture the NFC North title and secure a 31-27 Wild Card playoff victory over the Green Bay Packers before falling 20-17 in the Divisional Round to the Los Angeles Rams. In 2025, quarterback Caleb Williams guided an explosive scoring offense that generated 441 points, relying heavily on wide receiver DJ Moore and tight end Cole Kmet alongside a dynamic rushing attack led by D’Andre Swift, while linebackers Tremaine Edmunds and T.J. Edwards anchored the defensive unit. During the 2026 offseason, general manager Ryan Poles focused on fortifying depth across the roster by signing defensive tackle Neville Gallimore, safety Coby Bryant, linebacker Devin Bush, and wide receiver Kalif Raymond, while re-signing starting left tackle Braxton Jones. In the draft, Chicago prioritized adding playmaking speed and defensive secondary depth by selecting LSU wide receiver Zavion Thomas in the third round and Texas defensive back Malik Muhammad in the fourth round. Armed with an ascending star quarterback in Williams, a proven offensive scheme, and key defensive additions, the Bears head into 2026 targeted on defending their division crown and making a run at the Lombardi Trophy.

Cleveland Browns vs. Chicago Bears Prediction

I’m on the Browns in this one. I’m a firm believer that preseason football is about motivation and guys playing for spots on the depth chart and for playing time down the road and I think there’s a much larger battle going on within Cleveland’s depth chart especially for key positions like at QB. The Bears have a lot of their depth chart locked in and it’s a strong likelihood we don’t see any of Chicago’s starters in this game. I think the Browns go on the road and take care of business here so give me the Browns.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: Cleveland -3.5
