Chicago Bears Betting Preview
The Bears took a couple of losses to start out the year, falling versus the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions in rivalry games. Chicago found their stride after that though, beating the Dallas Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders and New Orleans Saints over the next four outings. In the Saints win at home, the Bears went just 3-of-12 on third down tries and had 10 penalties but also put up a nice 222 rushing yards and 5.8 yards per play.
In last Sunday’s game versus the Baltimore Ravens, the Bears were able to carve out an early lead but ended up trailing 10-6 by the break. Chicago ended up with a 30-16 loss after giving up 20 second-half points. Caleb Williams was 25-of-38 for 285 yards and one pick while D’Andre Swift had 45 yards and a TD on 11 totes. Rome Odunze was the team’s leading receiver with seven grabs for 114 yards in the defeat.
Cincinnati Bengals Betting Preview
Over on the Bengals’ side, they were able to edge out the Cleveland Browns in their opener before a game two win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Cincinnati hit the skids after that though, falling versus the Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers. The Bengals would halt the slide with a 33-31 win versus the Pittsburgh Steelers in a Thursday game, though. In that one Cincinnati finished with 470 yards, 328 pass yards, 6.5 yards per play, 27 first downs and 7-of-14 on third-down tries on the way to the tight win.
Matched up against the lowly New York Jets last weekend, the Bengals were up by a 31-16 margin heading into the final quarter. Cincinnati was blindsided in the fourth on a 23-7 deficit though, and ended up handing the Jets their first win of the year 39-38. QB Joe Flacco was 21-of-34 for 223 yards and a pair of scores while leading rusher Samaje Perine had 94 yards and a TD on nine carries. Ja’Marr Chase led the receivers with his 91 yards off 12 catches.

Bears vs Bengals Prediction
I’ll lean toward the Bears. Both these teams are coming off rather rough losses last weekend however, so I’m probably not touching it. Chicago went a tepid 6-of-14 on third- and fourth-down conversions during their loss to the Ravens and also gave up 177 rush yards with no takeaways on defense. That said, the real culprit was the team’s 11 penalties for 79 yards in the two-score defeat. The 16 points was the Bears’ lowest total of the season so far, so it wasn’t a great day for the offense. The loss halts a three-game win streak that featured 25 or more points in each outing.
As for the Bengals, they gave up 502 total yards, 254 rushing yards, 25 first downs and 7-of-15 on third-down tries to the worst team in the league on Sunday—at home, no less. It was Cincinnati’s fifth loss in the last six games and may well be the point in the season were it’s too late to think about the playoffs anymore. It won’t get any easier this weekend.
