Baltimore Ravens Betting Preview

The Ravens looked great for most of 2024, rolling to a 12-5 overall record despite an 0-2 start. Baltimore earned first place in the AFC North with that effort, and took care of the rival Pittsburgh Steelers 28-14 in the Wild Card Playoffs. The Divisional Playoffs game was a hard-fought loss 27-25 versus the Buffalo Bills, however.

Baltimore opened the preseason with a 24-16 win over the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens got just 43 yards on 3-of-12 passing (with a pick) from QB Devin Leary, but Keaton Mitchell helped keep the offense moving with 68 yards and a score off nine carries. In game two versus the Cowboys, Baltimore bagged another win, this time 31-13. The Ravens’ Cooper Rush threw for 198 yards, one TD and two interceptions on 20-of-30 passing. Tops in receiving was Devontez Walker with six grabs for 61 yards.

In the preseason finale versus the Washington Redskins, Baltimore took yet another victory. The Ravens didn’t have too much trouble in their 30-3 result. D’Ernest Johnson paced the rush with 45 yards and a score, while Rasheen Ali had nine carries for 36 yards and a touchdown of his own.

Buffalo Bills Betting Preview

Over on the Bills’ side, they exceeded expectations in 2024. Buffalo marched to a 13-4 run overall, eventually earning another AFC East title—their fifth in a row. In the Wild Card Playoffs versus the Broncos, the Bills took an easy win 31-7, then dispatched the Baltimore Ravens in a much closer contest 27-25 in the Divisional Playoffs. Buffalo’s charmed season came to an end in the AFC Championship though, as they fell 32-29 versus the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Bills gave up points in every quarter during their first preseason game versus the New York Giants, eventually falling 34-25. Buffalo’s Mike White had 112 yards and a couple of scores on 8-of-13 passing, though. Game two unfortunately was another loss for the Bills, this time a 38-0 blowout by the Chicago Bears. Buffalo got just 55 passing yards from Mitch Trubisky, but Frank Gore Jr. (51 rush yards; 30 receiving yards) carried the offense.

Matched up against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their final preseason game, the Bills were outscored 9-6 in the second half but held on for the win 23-19. Shane Buechele went 25-of-30 for 278 yards and a touchdown in the winning effort.

Ravens vs Bills Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Ravens. Baltimore is coming off a very nice preseason finale performance versus the Commanders, despite some fairly cool stats on offense. The Ravens managed a tepid 232 yards (130 passing) and 3.7 yards per play but also went a nice 10-of-16 on third downs and had no turnovers. Furthermore, the defense was great with seven takeaways (three picks) and 242 yards allowed (157 passing). Granted, none of the preseason really matters. That said, Baltimore did play well on both sides with a combined 85-32 score across three exhibition matchups, which were all wins.

Buffalo isn’t going to be a pushover though—especially in a road matchup—so Baltimore is going to have their hands full here. I think the Ravens can pull it off in the end, but it’ll be a great game regardless.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Baltimore Ravens +1.5
