The Las Vegas Raiders will host the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday from Allegiant Stadium on CBS. Minnesota enters as 3-point favorites, with the total currently hovering 40.5, as it’s moved eight points down from 48.5. Stay tuned for our Vikings vs Raiders prediction.
Minnesota Vikings Preview
Minnesota fell to 6-6 after losing to Chicago at home, 12-10. The Vikings took a bad loss in primetime after not allowing a touchdown to the Bears, and they’ll look to avoid falling below .500 here in Vegas. The Minnesota offense is scoring 21.9ppg, while passing for 272.0 ypg, rushing for 92.1 ypg, and converting 40.3% of their third downs.
Minnesota Player Props
• Josh Dobbs had a start to forget against Chicago last time out, tossing just one touchdown to four interceptions. The journeyman QB has been much better than that this season with Arizona and Minnesota, and he’ll look to bounce back here against a resurgent Vegas squad. Dobbs has thrown for 2,401 yards, with 13 touchdowns to ten interceptions thru twelve starts.
• Alexander Mattison gained 63 yards in the MNF loss to Chicago, and he leads the team in rushing with 594 yards on 158 carries.
• T.J. Hockenson scored for the third time in five games, and he leads the Vikings in receptions (80) and receiving yards (786).
• Justin Jefferson is set to return to this lineup this weekend in time for the Vikes playoff push, and he’s got splits of 46/571/3 through five games.
• Jordan Addison stepped up in Jefferson’s absence, and he’s second on the team with 54 catches for 686 receiving yards.
• The Minnesota defense is allowing 20.2 points per game.
Las Vegas Raiders Preview
Las Vegas moved to 5-7 after losing to Kansas City at Allegiant, 31-17. The Raiders let the Chiefs slip away in the fourth, and they’ll look to rebound Sunday at home. The LV offense is scoring 16.8 ppg, while passing for 219.2 ypg, rushing for 82.7 ypg, and converting 34.2% of their third downs.
Raiders Player Props
• Aidan O’Connell was solid in his start against Kansas City last week, going 23/33 for 248 yards and a touchdown. The rookie out of Purdue has done his part his behind center through six starts, and he’ll need to close strong down the stretch if he wants to be considered an option to start for LV next season. O’Connell has passed for 1,194 yards, with four touchdowns to five interceptions thus far.
• Josh Jacobs reached the 110-yard mark for the second time this season in the loss to KC, and he leads LV in rushing with 771 yards on 220 carries, with 35 catches out of the backfield.
• Davante Adams has come alive over the last three weeks, and he leads the Raiders in receptions (69) and receiving yards (814).
• JaKobi Meyers found the endzone for the fourth time last time out, and he’s second on the team with splits of 52/591/6.
• The Las Vegas defense has allowed 21.4 ppg.
Minnesota vs Las Vegas Trends
• MIN is 7-5 against the spread, with a 3-9 O/U record.
• LV is 6-6 ATS, with a 3-9 over/under record.
Corey’s Free Pick
Josh Dobbs will have a new set of hands to throw to this weekend, but his regression at home last time raised some eyebrows. Las Vegas comes in fresh off of a bye week, and a pair of losses to AFC heavyweights Miami and Kansas City, so this will serve as a must-win game for Antonio Pearce’s squad, and I think he’ll have them ready to compete. The line movement on the total is telling, as both defenses have outshined their offenses over the past month of action, but this feels like a game LV can win at home. Spot Vegas the points this Sunday evening.
