Denver Broncos Preview
Denver moved to 6-5 after defeating Cleveland at home, 29-12. The Broncos pulled away in the fourth quarter to pin a fifth straight win, and they’ll look to keep rolling here in HTown. The Denver offense is scoring 25.0 ppg, while passing for 253.5 ypg, rushing for 95.5 ypg, and converting 39.1% of their third downs.
Denver Player Props
• Russell Wilson game-managed the Broncos to another victory, and he did well by protecting the ball, and totaling two touchdowns. The former Seahawks QB and Sean Payton have started to figure things out together, and if he keeps this up he should be a no-brainer for the Comeback Player of the Year Award. Wilson has thrown for 2,199 yards, with 20 touchdowns to four interceptions.
• Javonte Williams gained 65 yards in the win over Cleveland, and he leads Denver in rushing with 538 yards on 140 touches.
• Courtland Sutton has scored in seven of the last nine games, and he leads Denver in receptions (48) and receiving yards (550).
• The Broncos defense is allowing 25.5 points per game.
Houston Texans Preview
Houston fell to 6-5 after losing to Jacksonville at home, 24-21. The Texans had their rally cut short by the Jags, and they’ll look to get back into the win column this weekend. The Houston offense is scoring 23.8 ppg, while passing for 297.0 ypg, rushing for 99.5 ypg, and converting 43.8% of their third downs.
Texans Player Props
• C.J. Stroud performed well despite the final outcome last weekend, passing for 304 yards, while accounting for three touchdowns. The former Ohio State quarterback continues to shine during his debut season, and he’s running away with the NFL OROY award. Stroud has passed for 3,266 yards, with 19 touchdowns to five interceptions on the season.
• Devin Singletary split the work with Damien Pierce last week, and after finishing with 71 all-purpose yards, he leads the Texans in rushing yards (489).
• Nico Collins reached the 100-yard mark in the loss to Jacksonville, and he leads Houston in receptions (50) and receiving yards (800).
• Tank Dell has scored in four straight games, and the former Houston Cougar is posting splits of 47/809/7.
• The Houston defense is allowing 20.8 points per game.
Denver vs Houston Trends
• DEN is 7-4 against the spread, with a 6-5 O/U record.
• HOU is 6-5 ATS, with a 5-6 over/under record.
Broncos vs Texans Prediction
Two of the AFC’s most interesting stories will collide this Sunday at NRG, as both clubs find themselves in the wildcard picture after exceeding recent expectations. Houston’s decision to select C.J. Stroud has paid dividends immediately, while Denver has shown us one of the more impressive in-season turnarounds in league history. The Broncos were throttled by the Dolphins en route to allowing 70 points, and while they’ve gone on to win five straight games, that streak may come to a halt on Sunday, as the Texans will be looking to get back into the win column themselves. This should be a really good game, but let’s see if Houston can slow Denver down, and come through at home this Sunday.
