The Baltimore Ravens will play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3 of the NFL preseason on Saturday night at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Baltimore had their historic preseason winning streak snapped last week, so how hard are they going to try and win this game after not losing for almost eight years?

Ravens Preview

The Baltimore Ravens are 1-1 this preseason after they lost to the Washington Commanders by a score of 29-28 in their last game. Baltimore took an early lead on a Zay Flowers 26 yard touchdown catch from Josh Johnson and they added a Tylan Wallace seven yard touchdown reception from Johnson right before the half. The Ravens defense wasn’t great and they trailed 17-14 at the half. Travis Vokolek got the scoring going in the third quarter with a 17 yard touchdown catch from Anthony Brown. The Ravens scored early in the fourth quarter on another catch from Vokolek, which extended the lead to 28-20, but Washington stormed back and won the game on a 49 yard field goal with under 10 seconds left. Baltimore was out gained by a total of 426-334 and turned the ball over two times in the loss. Josh Johnson and Anthony Brown played quarterback for the Ravens in this game, with both throwing two touchdown passes. The Ravens did beat the Eagles in their first game by a score of 20-19.

Buccaneers Preview

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 1-1 so far this preseason after they defeated the New York Jets by a score of 13-6 last week. This game didn’t feature much scoring from either side and the Bucs were able to sneak away with the win. Tampa Bay got a 35 yard field from Rodrigo Blankenship and a Trey Palmer 33 yard touchdown reception from Kyle Trask in the second quarter to take a 10-6 lead into the half. The only scoring play from either team in the second half was a 48 yard field goal from Chase McLaughlin, which extended the Tampa Bay lead to 13-6, where they game finished. The Buccaneers out gained New York by a total of 331-281 and forced three turnovers in the win. We saw Kyle Trask and John Wolford under center for Tampa Bay, but Kyle Trask got the bulk of the work, going 20/28 for 218 yards and a touchdown. Tampa Bay lost their first game of the preseason by a score of 27-17 at home to the Steelers.

Pick

Both of these teams will look to end the preseason on a good note with a win in this game, but I think both teams will be happy if they can escape without injuries. Tampa Bay is expected to play their starters for potentially a whole half, while Baltimore has not announced what they plan to do. The Ravens have had some injury issues, so I would think they may be more conservative than Tampa Bay. The Ravens qb duo of Johnson and Brown looked strong in their last game, despite the loss, and should find some success against a Bucs defense that allowed 27 points to Pittsburgh. The Ravens have the better depth and I expect them to have a huge advantage once the Tampa Bay starters are out. Give me the Ravens here.
