The Pittsburgh Steelers will host the Buffalo Bills for a preseason matchup this Saturday evening from Acrisure Stadium.
Bills Preseason Preview
Buffalo opened the preseason with a home victory over Indianapolis. The Bills used a pair of second half touchdowns to pull away from the Colts, and they’ll look to build on that effort here.
• Matt Barkley outplayed newcomer Kyle Allen last week by tossing a pair of touchdowns, and he may have the inside track on the QB2 position.
• First-year starter James Cook scored a touchdown on the first possession, and that could be a sign of things to come for him this season.
• LaTavius Murray gained 39 yards on nine touches.
• Andy Isabella caught all three of his passes for 42 yards, while gaining 58 yards in the return game.
Steelers Preseason Preview
Pittsburgh began the season with a win down in Tampa Bay, pouncing on the Buccaneers early and leaving with a ten-point win, 27-17. The Steelers went into the fourth quarter up sixteen points, and they will look to bring that same energy against Buffalo here.
Kenny Pickett looked great and delivered an opening score touchdown drive.
Mason Rudolph also looked good, passing for 132 yards and a touchdown, while Mitch Tribusky tossed a pick in his short time under center.
Veteran backup Anthony McFarland reached the endzone, while gaining 23 yards on four touches.
Calvin Austin III flashed some big play ability, catching a 67-yard touchdown, while leading the squad with 23 rushing yards.
Corey’s Free Pick
Mike Tomlin’s group couldn’t have asked for a better matchup to start the season, and this contest with Buffalo should be a lot tougher. Two well-coached teams will face off in this matchup, and I like rolling with the gritty hosts here. Pittsburgh has one of the best defenses in the league, and it ranges within their depth. The Steelers should also come out fired up for their first home game of the season, and their in a nice profitable spot after gaining some momentum with a win last week. Let’s back Pittsburgh for this preseason matchup
