The Chicago Bears will play the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 of the NFL Preseason on Saturday night at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. Chicago was able to open the preseason with a nice win, while the Colts comeback attempt came up just short.

Bears Preview

The Chicago Bears are 1-0 so far this preseason after they defeated the Tennessee Titans by a score of 23-17 last weekend. The Bears were able to score two touchdowns in the first quarter, but had to settle for three field goals the rest of the way. Chicago trailed at halftime by a score of 17-14, but they held Tennessee to zero points in the second half. The Bears got touchdown receptions from DJ Moore and Khalil Herbert, both of which were thrown by Justin Fields. Cairo Santos added both extra points and field goals of 28, 29, and 49 yards in the win. Chicago was out gained by a total of 400-343 yards and they went 4-12 on third downs. It was a pretty sloppy game, as Chicago turned the ball over three times, while Tennessee turned it over four times. The Bears showcased four quarterbacks in this game, Justin Fields, Nathan Peterman, Tyson Bagent, and PJ Walker. Roschon Johnson led the way with 44 yards on 12 carries.

Colts Preview

The Indianapolis Colts are 0-1 after they lost to the Buffalo Bills by a score of 23-19 in Week 1. Indianapolis scored early in the third quarter to take the lead, but Buffalo answered with 13 straight points to put the game out of reach. The Colts were able to score three touchdowns in the game, which were scored by Jake Funk on a one yard run, Darius Rush on a 52 yard interception return, and Jason Huntley on a three yard run. Indianapolis was out gained by a total of 348-289, but they were able to force two turnovers in the loss. The Colts converted 23 first downs and went 5-10 on third down attempts, while also going 0-2 on fourth downs. We saw Gardner Minshew, Sam Ehlinger, and Anthony Richardson at quarterback for the Colts last week and we should see a similar rotation here. Deon Jackson led the running backs with 35 yards on six carries.

Pick

Chicago comes into this game with plenty of confidence after getting the win last week, but they have plenty to work on after allowing 400 yards to the Titans. The Colts struggled at times to move the ball against Buffalo, but they have a nice three quarterback mix to work with here. I think the Colts will be able to move the ball better against Chicago and also expect Anthony Richardson to play better. This should be another entertaining preseason game, but I am going to roll with the Colts at home. The spread is bigger than I would like for a preseason game, but I do think the Colts have the better quarterback depth. Take Indy to get the win here.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
