The Miami Dolphins will play the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon in the AFC Wild Card Playoffs at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.
The Miami Dolphins are 9-8 this season after they defeated the New York Jets by a score of 11-6 in their last game. Miami out gained New York by a total of 302-187, but only went 4-13 on third down attempts in the game. The Miami offense is averaging 23.4 points per game with 265.4 passing yards per game and 99.2 rushing yards per game. Skylar Thompson has thrown for 534 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions for the Dolphins this season. Jeff Wilson Jr. has rushed for 392 yards and three touchdowns, while Tyreek Hill has caught 119 passes for 1,710 yards and seven scores for Miami. The Miami defense is giving up 23.5 points per game and 337.8 yards per game.
The Buffalo Bills are 13-3 this season after they defeated the New England Patriots by a score of 35-23 in their last game. Buffalo was out gained by a total of 341-327, but was able to return two kickoffs for touchdowns in the win. The Buffalo offense is averaging 28.4 points per game with 258.1 passing yards per game and 139.5 rushing yards per game. Josh Allen has thrown for 4,283 yards, 35 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions, while also rushing for 762 yards and seven touchdowns for the Bills this season. Devin Singletary has rushed for 819 yards and five touchdowns, while Stefon Diggs has caught 108 passes for 1,429 yards and 11 scores for Buffalo. The Buffalo defense is allowing 17.9 points per game and 319.1 yards per game.
Miami is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games against the AFC East and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 playoff games. The over is 6-1 in Miami’s last 7 road games. Buffalo is 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 January games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning record. The over is 4-1 in Buffalo’s last 5 home games. The over is 11-5 in these two teams last 16 head to head meetings.
Buffalo comes into this game playing like one of the best teams in the NFL and will have home field advantage for this playoff matchup. Miami was able to barely sneak into the playoffs by beating the Jets last week, but they have not played very good football in recent weeks. Tua and Teddy are unable to play this week, so Skylar Thompson will get the start at quarterback, while Raheem Mostert is also out with an injury for Miami. I don’t see how this Miami offense will be able to keep up with Buffalo in this game and I expect the Bills to win by at least two scores.
