Denver Broncos at Los Angeles Rams - 12/25/22 NFL Picks and Prediction
The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams face off on Sunday in an NFL showdown at SoFi Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2018 it was the Rams that secured the 23-20.
The Broncos come into this game with a 4-10 record overall, and they have gone 6-8 against the spread. In the last game against the Arizona Cardinals, though, the offense managed to score 24 points, and secure the nine point victory. Brett Rypien completed 21 of his 26 passes for 197 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Russell Wilson was dealing with a concussion, but he’s expected to get the start in this game. Wilson has not been good this season, and they need more production out of him here. Wilson has thrown for 2,805 yards, 11 touchdowns, and six interceptions. The Broncos are averaging 15.6 points, while their defense is giving up 18.1 points per game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Rams, who sit with a 4-10 record overall, and they have gone 5-8-1 against the spread. In the last game against the Green Bay Packers, the Rams scored only 12 points and that led to the 12 point defeat. Baker Mayfield completed 12 of his 21 passes for 111 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Rams are averaging 16.4 points, while their defense is giving up 22.9 points per game. Mayfield is expected to get the start again in this game, and they are going to need him to have a good game. This team's biggest issue all season has been injuries, and now they lost Ben Skowronek for the season.
The Rams are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games in December. The under is 7-1 in the Bronco's last eight games on fieldturf. The under is 8-1 in the Ram's last nine home games against a team with a losing road record.
With Wilson back under center for the Broncos, they are going to go back to struggling to move the ball. Baker Mayfield might not have the most dynamic game, but he’s going to do enough against the Broncos defense to find success. This is going to be an ugly game all around, but the Rams will do enough to cover the spread. Back the Rams against the spread.
