The New York Giants and MInnesota Vikings face off on Saturday in an NFL showdown at U.S. Bank Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2019 it was the Vikings that secured the 28-10 victory.
The Giants come into this game with an 8-5-1 record overall and they have gone 3-2 away from home this season. The Giants were basically in a must win spot in the last game against the Washington Commanders and they were able to secure a 20-12 victory. Saquon Barkley had a strong game finishing with 87 yards and a touchdown. The Giants are averaging 20.5 points while their defense is giving up 22.3 points per game. The defense is ranked 14th in the NFL and they are going to need to lockdown in this game with the defense. The last thing they want to happen is to get into a shootout.
On the other side of this matchup is the Vikings who sit with an 11-3 record and they have gone 6-7-1 against the spread. In the last game against the Indianapolis Colts they had the biggest comeback in NFL history. At half time the Vikings were down 33-0, but they scored 39 in the second half and overtime to secure the victory. Kirk Cousins completed 35 of his 54 passes for 460 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Vikings are averaging 25.1 points while their defense is giving up 24.9 points per game. Justin Jefferson has caught 111 passes for 1,623 yards and seven touchdowns.
The GIants are 4-0 in their last four games on Saturday. The over is 6-0 in the Vikings last six games as a home favorite. The over is 5-0 in the Vikings last five home games against a team with a winning road record.
The Vikings defense finally showed some life in the second half of the last game, and they are going to find success here. I’m still not sold on Daniel Jones under center for the Giants, and the VIkings defense is going to step up. Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson are going to have another big game for the Vikings, and the home team is going to get the job done here. Back the Vikings against the spread.
