The Atlanta Falcons and Baltimore Ravens face off on Saturday in an NFL showdown at M&T Bank Stadium. When these two teams faced off in 2018 it was the Ravens that secured the 26-16 victory.
The Falcons sit with a 5-9 record overall but they have gone 8-6 against the spread. The Falcons have lost three games in a row and they have made the road to the playoffs tough. In the last game the Falcons turned to Desmond Ridder, and he didn’t look great. He completed 13 of his 26 passes for 97 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He did rush six times for 38 yards. He didn’t look supe comfortable, but the Falcons also didn’t seem to call plays for him to really push the ball down the field. The Falcons are averaging 21.8 points while their defense is giving up 23.8 points per game. In this game it’s going to come down to the play of Ridder and if he can be more dynamic with the ball in his hands.
On the other side of this matchup is the Ravens who sit with a 9-5 record and they have gone 5-8-1 against the spread. In the last game against the Cleveland Browns, the Ravens only scored three points and that led to the 10 point defeat. Tyler Huntley started and completed 17 of his 30 passes for 138 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. Lamar Jackson has already been ruled out for this game which means it’s going to be Huntley again under center. The Ravens are averaging 21.7 points while their defense is giving up 18.8 points per game. In this game the Ravens need the offense to get going or it’s going to be a long game.
The Ravens are 0-6-1 against the spread in their last seven home games. The Ravens are 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven games on fieldturf. The under is 5-0 in the Ravens last five home games. The under is 4-0 in the Falcons last four games in December.
I really don’t trust Ridder or Huntley and they are both going to have some issues moving the ball here. Both quarterbacks didn’t look good in the last game. The Ravens defense has also been strong all season, and the Falcons could be shutout here. This game is going to be lower scoring and the under is going to cash here.
