New England Patriots at Minnesota Vikings - 11/24/22 NFL Picks and Prediction
The New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings face off on Thursday night in a Thanksgiving NFL showdown at US Bank Stadium.
The Patriots sit with a 6-4 record, and they have gone 6-4 against the spread. The defense has been really strong over the last two games, giving up only six points total. In the last game against the New York Jets, it took a kick return touchdown in the last minute to secure the 10-3 victory. Mac Jones completed 23 of his 37 passes for 246 yards, zero touchdowns, and zero interceptions. The Patriots are averaging 21.3 points, while their defense is giving up 16.9 points per game. The defense is ranked second in the league. Center David Andrews is dealing with a thigh injury and his status is unclear for this game. In this game, the Patriots will need the defense to be strong.
On the other side of this matchup is the Vikings, who sit with an 8-2 record, and they have gone 4-5-1 against the spread. The Vikings have had a strong season, but are coming off a 40-3 defeat against the Dallas Cowboys. The offensive line was awful and couldn’t keep Kirk Cousins upright. Star tackle Christian Darrisaw is dealing with a concussion and has already been ruled out for this game. The Vikings might need to change up the game plan to try to get Cousins some more time in the pocket. The Vikings are averaging 22.9 points, while their defense is giving up 23.1 points per game.
The Patriots are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games overall. The Vikings are 4-1 against the spread in their last five Thursday games. The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings.
When these two teams have played, the under has been a strong play, and it’s going to be no different in this game. The Vikings are going to fail to protect Kirk Cousins here, and Minnesota is going to struggle to move the ball. I also don’t trust Mac Jones and the Patriots offense, and they will have an issue getting over that 10-point mark they posted in the last game. Back the under to cash here.
