The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions face off on Thursday in the Annual Thanksgiving NFL game at Ford Field.
The Bills will be playing their second game in a row at Ford Field after last week's game was moved to Detroit because of the snow in Buffalo. The Bills come into this game with a 7-3 record, and they have gone 5-4-1 against the spread. On Sunday, against the Cleveland Browns, the Bills offense put up 31 points. Devin Singletary has been better the last couple of weeks and in the last game, he finished with 18 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown. The Bills are averaging 28.1 points, while their defense is giving up 17.4 points per game. On the season, Josh Allen has thrown for 2,930 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Allen is dealing with an elbow, and he’s officially questionable for this game, although it’s hard to imagine that he’s going to miss this game.
On the other side of this matchup is Detroit, who sits with a 4-6 record, and they have gone 6-4 against the spread. The Lions haven’t had the best season, but they have won games in a row. Two games ago against the Chicago Bears they won 31-30 and in the last game against the New York Giants they won 31-18. Armon-Ra St. Brown is having a big season and in the last game he finished with seven catches for 76 yards. The Lions are averaging 25 points, while their defense is giving up 28.2 points per game. The Lions offense is ranked 8th best in the league, but the defense is ranked 32nd.
The Bills are 6-1-1 against the spread in their last eight games against a team with a losing record. The Lions are 6-0 against the spread in their last six games in November. The underdog is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between the Bills and Lions. The under is 5-0 in the last five meetings.
The Bills have shown some holes in the last few games, and their defense hasn’t been as lights out. The Bills gave up 23 points in the last game, and this Lions offense is clearly strong. Look for another big game from Jared Goff, and that is going to be the difference as Detroit keeps this game close. Back the Lions against the spread.
