The Detroit Lions and Chicago Bears face off on Sunday in an NFL showdown at Solider Field. The Bears have won the last two games over the Lions.
The Lions come into this game with a 2-6 record overall, but they are coming off a huge victory in the last game. The Lions defense locked down Aaron Rodgers, and the Green Packers intercepted him three times. The offense only managed 15 points, but it was enough to secure the six points victory. Jared Goff on the season has thrown for 2,041 yards, 14 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The Lions are averaging 23.5 points, while their defense is giving up 29.3 points per game. The defense is ranked 32nd in the league, even after giving up only 15 points in the last game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Chicago Bears, and they sit with a 3-6 record. In the last game against the Miami Dolphins, the offense scored 32 points, but the defense gave up 35 points. Justin Fields has really improved the last few weeks and against the Dolphins he threw for 123 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed 15 times for 178 yards and a touchdown. The Bears are averaging 20.8 points, while their defense is giving up 24 points per game. The Bears need Fields to have a big game and help run up the score against the Lions defense.
The Lions are 1-4-1 against the spread in the last six meetings in Chicago. The under is 7-3 in the last ten meetings in Chicago. The over is 7-3 in the last ten meetings in Chicago. The Lions are 6-0 in their last six games against the NFC North. The Bears are 3-1-1 against the spread in their last five home games.
The Lions are in big trouble with the way Fields has played heading into this game. The Lions defense is going to really struggle to slow down Fields. I expect Fields to rush over 150 yards again in this game, and that is going to lead to the Bears getting the job done here. Back the Bears against the spread. This is one of my favorite plays of the weekend.
