The San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons meet Sunday in week 6 NFL action at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The San Francisco 49ers look to build on their 3-2 record. The Atlanta Falcons look to get back to a .500 record.
The San Francisco 49ers have won 5 of their last 9 road games. Jimmy Garoppolo is completing 60.7 percent of his passes for 857 yards, 5 touchdowns and 1 interception. Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk have combined for 503 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns, while Jauan Jennings has 10 receptions. The San Francisco 49ers ground game is averaging 138.8 yards per contest, and Jeff Wilson Jr. leads the way with 375 yards and 2 touchdowns. Defensively, San Francisco is allowing 12.2 points and 249.2 yards per game. Dre Greenlaw leads the San Francisco 49ers with 49 tackles, Nick Bosa has 6 sacks and Talanoa Hufanga has 2 interceptions.
The Atlanta Falcons have lost 7 of their last 9 home games. Marcus Mariota is completing 57.7 percent of his passes for 926 yards, 4 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. Drake London and Olamide Zaccheaus have combined for 479 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns, while Kyle Pitts has 10 receptions. The Atlanta Falcons ground game is averaging 164.6 yards per contest, and Cordarrelle Patterson leads the way with 340 yards and 3 touchdowns. Defensively, Atlanta is allowing 24.4 points and 393 yards per game. Mykal Walker leads the Atlanta Falcons with 44 tackles, Grady Jarrett has 3.5 sacks and Richie Grant has 1 interception.
The 49ers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Falcons are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 home games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The under is 7-1 in 49ers last 8 games overall. The under is 5-2 in Falcons last 7 home games.
The Atlanta Falcons just don't play with much effort defensively, and their offense is one dimensional given that they have a limited passing attack. This is the type of game a physical and well coached 49ers side should be able to control. It may not always be pretty for the San Francisco 49ers, but they should be able to pull away in the fourth quarter with a late touchdown. The Falcons likely have issues with the 49ers physicality. I'll lay the chalk.
