The New York Jets and Green Bay Packers face off on Sunday in a Week 6 NFL showdown at Lambeau Field. When these two teams faced off in 2018 it was the Packers that secured the 44-38 victory.
The Jets sit with a 3-2 record overall and they are coming off a big win in their last game against the Miami Dolphins. The offense put up 40 points, and that led to the 23-point victory. Zach Wilson had a nice game completing 14 of his 21 passes for 210 yards. Rookie Breece Hall is coming off a strong start also putting up 97 yards and a touchdown on the ground and another 100 yards through the air. The Jets on the season is averaging 23.2 points while their defense is giving up 23.6 points per game. In this game, the defense is going to need to be good. Linebacker C.J. Mosley is dealing with a hip injury and is questionable for this game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Green Bay Packers who sit with a 3-2 record overall but their loss last Sunday was a disappointing one. They were outscored 17-2 in the second half against the New York Giants and ended up losing by five points. Aaron Rodgers completed 25 of his 39 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns. Aaron Jones finished with 13 carries for 63 yards. The Packers need to make the running game a more focal point of the offense again. The Packers are averaging 19.4 points while their defense is giving up 19.2 points per game.
The Jets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games. The Packers are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games overall. The over is 4-1-1 in the last five meetings played between the two teams.
I don’t trust this Packers offense, and a big reason is I don’t feel confident they will try to lean on the run game more in this game. The Packers defense is going to struggle to slow down Breece Hall and that is going to be the difference here. The Jets probably won’t win the game, but they will keep it close enough to cover. Back the Jets against the spread.
