Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals - 10/9/22 NFL Picks and Prediction
The Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals meet Sunday in week 5 NFL action at State Farm Stadium. The Philadelphia Eagles look for their first 5-0 start since the 2004 season. The Arizona Cardinals look to get a game above a .500 record.
The Philadelphia Eagles have won their last 4 road games. Jalen Hurts is completing 66.7 percent of his passes for 1,120 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith have combined for 670 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, while Dallas Goedert has 16 receptions. The Philadelphia Eagles ground game is averaging 165.3 yards per contest, and Miles Sanders leads the way with 356 yards and 3 touchdowns. Defensively, Philadelphia is allowing 17.8 points and 277.3 yards per game. T.J. Edwards leads the Philadelphia Eagles with 33 tackles, Haason Reddick has 3.5 sacks and James Bradberry has 2 interceptions.
The Arizona Cardinals have lost their last 7 home games. Kyler Murray is completing 65.3 percent of his passes for 991 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Marquise Brown and Greg Dortch have combined for 543 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns, while Zach Ertz has 22 receptions. The Arizona Cardinals ground game is averaging 112 yards per contest, and James Conner leads the way with 145 yards and 1 touchdown. Defensively, Arizona is allowing 25.8 points and 342.8 yards per game. Budda Baker leads the Arizona Cardinals with 32 tackles, J.J. Watt has 2 sacks and Dennis Gardeck has 1 interception.
The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in October and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games in Week 5. The Cardinals are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The under is 5-2 in Eagles last 7 road games. The under is 4-1 in Cardinals last 5 games overall. The Eagles are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Arizona and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 meetings.
The Philadelphia Eagles deserve to get love here, as they're unbeaten up to this point and have shown terrific balance. However, you could argue the Eagles have some more showing and proving to do, as their schedule hasn't been all that difficult. The Arizona Cardinals can be better defensively and the offensive success comes and goes, but they've been competitive their last 3 weeks, and you'd think they'd get up for this one. The Cardinals haven't won a home game since October 24 of last year. That's not sustainable, right? Not saying Cardinals win here, but I'll grab the points.
